Simple additions to bring your little one’s nursery to life.

Inspired by some of the top trends sweeping the globe in 2017.
The adventure starts at home
Globalization has hit the kids’ bedrooms and our babies are traveling the world over with adventure and travel inspired home décor. You will be glad to know, creating that adventurous spirit in your nursery doesn’t need to be difficult. A few simple additions such as a teepee, play mat and wall art will set the tone for baby’s first expedition.
Here is a gorgeous example of a simple feature wall using decals to transform the space into one that inspires the little adventurer in all of us.
Add some soft pop
Neutrals and muted colour tones typify the modern nursery. Interior designer Young Huh states that ‘Whites, beiges, pale greys, camel, and blush pink are super on-trend.’ (Vogue Home Decor Trends). But if a pale colour palette feels a bit lackluster, you can simply add some energy into the room with a pop of pastel or darker navy tones across your decor such as on pillows, blankets, rugs or wallpaper.
This example showcases the beautiful Little P Cloud Rug that creates that magic accent to a gentle environment.
There is just something so heart-warming about animals – their cuteness, and gentle, innocent souls. It is no surprise we have seen them appearing in all forms across nurseries and kids' rooms including on prints, pillows, fabrics, wall art, mobiles and rocking 'horses.' They create instant charm and warmth.
Check out these sweet animal themed kids chairs by Elements Optimal that are sure to pull on your heartstrings and spark the inner story teller in all of us.
And these Fiona Walker animal heads are just way too cute!
Functional furniture that serves as a statement piece is on the rise, and why shouldn’t it start with your baby’s first bed as a contemporary icon? We love the super stylish Rockwell Bassinet by Monte Design.
The Levo Baby Rocker by Charlie Crane is absolutely adorable. It looks so comfy even I want to lay in it! It comes in a range of pastels too, so if you are wanting to add a bit of that soft pop to your room, this is perfect.
A touch of darkness
Richer and darker wood tones are undoubtedly on the rise and one of our favourites in this theme is the Lucie Kaas Bear Family. The gorgeous keepsakes are a celebration of midcentury Danish woodcraft and are cute as much as they are stylish.
Another beautiful piece that is right on trend is the Wooden Story stacking toy. It comes in a combination of dark and light wood tones and looks great as a display feature and is a stylish way of adding some fun and games into the nursery.
How do you create your magic touch to your little one's resting place?
